Z u Dec. 4, 1919. M Miss Christine Me Nuno, American Red Cross, 44 East 23rd St., New York, N. Y. My dear Miss Nuno: By way of explanation of the enclosed list. this was added to every list which was handed to the Division Directors, as apparently they were nurses who belonged to the Regular Army Nurse Corps, and we have no record here, whereby we could d termine what part of the country they came from as they were not enrolled Red Cross nurses, so we had to just take the chance that you might be able to locate the nurses who were in your Division. Before making the list out, I asked Miss Noyes whether we should refer these to Miss Stimson, and she said "no, let them go to the Division Directors". So we will leave it to your own discretion whether you wish to follow them up to see if they have recorered, or need special care. I would not pay any attention to those located outside of the Atlantic Division. I think I will be coming about the end of December Or first of January to inspect you again, so advise that you get your house in order. Miss Minnigerode has just telephoned to inquire if Miss Johnson has been able to locate any nurse who is willing to accept the hospitality of Miss Gertrude Selden, a former New York nurse. Miss Minnigerode states that Miss Selden had already written Miss Johnson regarding hor offer to take a nurse into her home, for an indefinite period, who needed à long rest. sincerely yours, 3 AD/mc Director, Dept. of Nursing. 1.9.7.
