N u October 10, 1922. Miss Christine M. Nuno, 3 Asst. to Director, Nursing Service, A.R.C., e 44 East 23rd Street, 1 New York City. C e My. dear Miss Nuno: You may be surprised at the enclosed. I hope very nuch that you will consider this suggestion with some care. It seems to me a wonderful opportunity, and as you have had no foreign service I believe you would make a great error if you turned it down. It does not follow that becausé you take foreign service that you will not again be brought back to the Red Cross for some service. We find that those people who round out their work with all sorts of experiences are the people who are ultirately of the grestest value to us. I spoke of you to Dr. Hill this morning, who signified the great interest in having you serve 8.3 leader of this unit should it go over. He further remarked - that his respect for your ability had grown daily, and that he believed you could put it through. - Miss Nelson who is already in Europe will probably be in charge of the nursing in connection with the work. Hoadquarters will be at Athens. Mrs. Heilman and a group are already there, and while I have no definite information regarding the needs, I have promised Dr. Hill to have a unit ready for almost imrediate sailing should he feel that additional nurse 3 were required. Yours sincerely, Director - Nureing Service. N-k
