My dear Miss 0'Connor:

Your physical has been approved by our Red Cross medical advisor
and we are now in a position to offer you the appointment of staff nurse
with the civilian emergency hospital being set up on the Ishand of Kauai,

under the jurisdiction of the O.C.D. in the Territory of Hawaii. This
position carries the salary of $110 a month, including room, two meals a
day and laundering of uniforms. Your salary will start from the date you
arrive in San Francisco as will also the ternas of employment with the O.C.D.
in accordance with the notification which was sent to you on September 15.
In order to complete final arrangements for your departure, you will
find detailed instructions about travel on the enclosed supplementary in-
formation shest. Please follow all instructions carefully.
We are enclosing a check for $200 to cover your expenses for travel and
maintenance. Please note the enclosed instructions concerning funds for
traveling expenses.
As we have made some changes in the general arrengements, we wish to call
your attention to the new general information sheet which was also sent to
you on September 15 and which will aupersede all previous information.
Therefore, enclosed you will find the followings
1. Advance check for $200
2. Instructions re funds for travel
3. Reimbursement agreement
4. Record of traveler's checks
5. Supplementary information
We shall expect you to arrange to leave for San Francisco by October 1
unless we hear from you to the contrary.
