Dear Mrs. Burnside:
Mr. Norman Davis has asiced me to write to
you in answer to your letter of July 30. inquir-
ing for further information regarding your
daughter, Nancy M. Pett, a member of the Red
Cross-Harvard Field Hospital Unit. Of course we
cannot be too aptimistic due to the time which
has now elapsed since the ship on which Nancy
traveling was known to have been torpedoed.
