Extract from letter to Miss Beard from Miss F. Viola Young,
e
Chief Nurse, Sacred Hearts Hospital, Nonolulu, T.H., 9/21/42:
"Miss Hazel Moores and Miss Beatrice Porter, although
apparently not so unhappy as they were the first two or three
months of their service with the Unit, still desire to be returned
to the Mainland as soon as they can be replaced. They are very
willing, however, to wait for replacements. I discussed with them

your statement to me of August 2lst that they would be expected to
remain a year. However, due to Dr. Arnold's statement to the grap
they, of course, are also asking to be released as soon as replace-
ments can arrive. I feel that since these other replacements are
having to be made, their requests should be granted also."
