R 1090 Alicia Avenue F. West Englewood, N.J. March 8, 1945 Miss Mary Houston American Red Cross Washington, D.C. Dear Miss Houston:- in application blank. On February 17th I mailed to you my filled Be sure that I realize how busy you all are. In fact, the day I was in your office I had a notion to offer my services as a filing clerk or general office assistant when I saw how busy every one was. However, what I do in the next few months depends on what the Red Cross does about my application. You can readily appreciate that I am anxious to do something definite to help in this country while waiting for an appointment from the Chinese Government to go back to China. I can plan to be in Washington next week if a personal interview is wanted by you or your committee. If not, any attention you may be able to give this matter will be greatly appreciated by Sincerely yours, Lydia F.
