-3- I have had personal conferences with Mr. White of Blakiston's and he liked ay plan for reorganisation of materials. He recomnended that the content in pages should not exceed the present adition. There wes a ascious need for more up-to-date layottes to be aent out to itinerant instructors. Naterials have been purchased for new sets. Mrs. Jones is now working on then and the Maternity Genter ideas are being used. She has offered to do this work as a volunteer activity although I feel it to be quite an underbaking. Our materials arepretty well up to date with the exception of the text and a syllabus for Girl Seout instruction. 2. Institutes Some experimentation was done on institutes in each area. A copy of Miss Andersen's regular schedule is attached. I feel that much can be ac- complished by expanding the institute idea. Early this spring I sent out let- ters to the Nursing Field Representatives asking them to help us in planning our institute programs. As a result of this preliminary planning, we hoped to carry forward the following progrant Trip n Boston, Mass. Suggested by Miss Bean. Berkshire Co., Mass. Hampshire Co., Mass. Bangor, Maine Suggested by Miss Knowlton. Portland, Maine (liight be held over until next year as we held an institute in Maine last year.) Hartford, Gonn. ) Suggested by Mise Addison. Gencord, N. H. Suggested by Miss Gould. Barre, Vt. Trip #2 Asheville, N. C. Suggeated by Miss ilettinger end Miss Spartanburg, S.C. DeLaskey Atlanta, Ga. Trip #5 Indianapolia, Ind. Suggested by Miss Spaulding, Miss Gros- Columbus, Ohio cop and Miss Marie Peterson. Morgantown, W. Va. Fittsburgh, Pa. Tria #4 Utica, N. Y. We thought perhapa Utica would be a good Newark, N. J. center in New York and Newark, N. J. is also a stragetic point. -- Washington, D. C. ) There are many instructors in this viein- ity who would profit by an institute here.
