Miss Winifred Ryan,
2814 Portland Avenue,
Minneapolis, Minn.
My dear Miss Ryan:
We are very anxious to secure a copy of
the citation which was given by the Government of Serbia
to many of our Red Cross Nurses who served in that country
following the war.
This is desired by the state of Indiana,
which is having a history written on participation in the
World War by individuals in that state. They desire to
incorporate therein a record of the citations received by
one of our Red Cross nurses. We have been able to secure
a copy of the citation that accompanied the Red Cross silver
medal, but so far have been unsuccessful in securing a copy
of the citation that accompanied the "Cross of Mercy."
If you will send me your copy, by
registered mail, I will have a photography made and return
the original to you with all due promptness. Thanking you,
I am
Very sincerely yours,
N.H
National Director, Nursing Service.
