St. rs May 1, 1918. Y Miss Katherine Williems, + 422 W. 115th St., New York City, it T My dear Miss Williams: : There has been some change in the regulations mentioned in our letter of instructions. As the ships rarely sail on the date for which they are booked, but are dealyed from six to ten days in New York earlier than three(3 days prior to the date on which you are booked to sail. For instance, if you are to sail on the 15th, you will re- port in New York on the norning of the 12th, and you will have ample time to complete all arrangements. We hope soon to have plons complete for the nurses sexv- ing under the Red Cross to receive a certain insurance with the privilege of securing an increase on this, if they so de- sire, at the regulation rates. If you have sailed before plans have boen completed, you will receive the insurance in France. If you have not sailed full information will be given you before you leave this country. I would also suggest that you secure your photographs for your passport as economically as possible. In the cities where there is frequent request for passports, the rogulation photo- graph ean be purchased from 50 cents to one dollare a dozen. Very sinceroly yours, Director, Bureau of Field Nursing Service. LM/B. 192215
