My dear Miss Slack:
Thank you very mich for your very interesting
letter of February 18th. Naturally, I was greatly interested in
your description of your trip over, as well as of the situation in
Beirut, and all that you were abloto accomplish. Now that you are
in Alappo and have taken up your residence with a Syrian family,
and have already started your work, I shall look forward to
receiving at some later date a full account of the general situa-
tion, as well as your special activities. Do describe the customs
of the people, and the conditions under which you are living, and
how you live. All this makes interesting reeding for the nurses
of the United States.
If I can be of any special service to you, I
will be glad to hear from you. In the méantime, believe me as
