In the meantime Miss Slack being in New York called and became acquainted with several members of the Committee. Miss Slack has filled out a Personnel blank giving us details of various pieces of work she had under her charge in Europe. One of the most important of these was under the direction of your Committee and we are very anxious indeed to obtain your first-hand approval of our choice, and also details of the manner in which she executed the work under her direction. The work we expect her to do is pioneer in its nature and very wide in its , scope. We wish her to have charge of what might be termed a mobile health center and also the organization of small clinics in the rural villages. You will yourself readily appreciate the various ramifications of a work of this type and if personally acquainted with Miss Sla ck and her qualifications will know if she is the best person adopted to head-up this program. While its main dealings will be with natives, it is just as essential that she be
