In the meantime Miss Slack being in New York\ncalled and became acquainted with several members of the\nCommittee. We are now in a position to proceed with the\nwork we have in mind for Miss Sla ck to head-up in Syria.\nMiss Slack has filled out a Personnel blank\ngiving us details of various pieces of work she had under\nher charge in Europe. One of the most important of these\nwas under the direction of your Committee and we are very\nanxious indeed to obtain your first-hand approval of our\nchoice, and also details of the manner in which she\nexecuted the work under her direction. The work we expect\nher to do is pioneer in its nature and very wide in its\n,\nscope. We wish her to have charge of what might be termed\na mobile health center and also the organization of small\nclinics in the rural villages. You will yourself readily\nappreciate the various ramifications of a work of this\ntype and if personally acquainted with Miss Sla ck and her\nqualifications will know if she is the best person adopted\nto head-up this program.
