346 May 17, 1918. Miss Julia Smith, 549 Riverside Varive, Apt.6-d Now York City. My dear Miss Smith Ozz May and I wrote you asking you to cond mo tho two enrollment blanks necessary for the consideration of your enrollment in the Red Cross and with us. As yet II have not recoived thoso blonks. Will you please send them to me at once if you wish us to consider assighing you to ono of our communities. I think you told Miss Gardner you wished to be placed in New York State. We have at present only one vacancy in New York and we are holding this for you ponding the receipt of your applications. If we do not hear from you in the near future, I am afroid that we will consider intoher nurse for this commity. The town in question is Oneida, No Y. which is about in the middle of the state half way between lineny and Burfalo. It has a population of 20,000, largely American with same Irish, Italian, and Cornen It is a manufacturing town. The nurse is employed by the Oneido City Federation of Woman's Clubs and does general visiting nursing also quite a little school nursing. The last marse received a salary of $85.00. I cm anxious to put you into correspond- cace with the Chairman of the Federation of Women's Clubs concerning this vacan- cy, int oan not do SO until your application blanks have been passed upon Hop- ing to hear from you in who 2003 futuro.
