Miss Juliet Snyder has just called to see me with reference to your letter of August 22nd in which you direct her to secure a copy of her birth certificate and the requisite photographs required before making application for a passport. You also directed her not to give up any position until definitely notified by the Bureau of Transportation concerning a sailing date. I have been notified by the bureau of Personnel that Miss Snyder was given a sailing date for September 4th and on August 19th I sent Miss Snyder a letter directing her to make application for a passport to the United States District Court of Phikadelphia. This she did not do, carrying out your in- structions only, as yours were subsequent to mine. Miss Snyder has her photographs and her birth certificate, and she is waiting further instructions. She has had two years in hospital social service and could be assignment to Division C-8. I await your instructions with regard to Miss Snyder. Yours sincerely, Busen e.
