My dear Miss Somervilles
Your letter of May 21 in which you asked for advice
concerning salary due you for the vacation period has not
been answered before this for the reason that the procedure
of checking dates, etc. required considerable time.
We are delighted, however, to be able to send you
the enclosed check for the amount of $53.33. This will, I
believe, take care of our financial obligation to you.
By the time you receive this letter you will also
have received the certificate which is being issued to all
the members of the Harvard Unit which, in a limited way,
expresses our appreciation of what you and other members of
the staff accomplished.
