Miss Beard
Margaret Somerville
I should like to recommend that Margaret Somerville, a returned
Harvard Unit nurse, receive payment for 20 days of accrued annual
leave.
Miss Somerville has, to be sure, had a long period of disability
dating from August 1, 1942 for which she is now receiving the Red
Cross insurance payments, beginning as of August 28, 1942.
The above recommendation is made in view of the circumstances of
Miss Somerville's period of service which included the extreme
conditions to which she was subjected following the torpedoing of
the ship en route to England and her year of service without leave.
