+ a K Mrs. Stackable. 2. In regard to writing articles about experiences with the Red Cross. Thie is quite enother question. I feel eure that you will appreciate our position in the matter F. and will understand our position when I state - thst while we have no objection to your writing your experiences, we would like very much to look them over before they go to the printer. The émerican Red Cross has a national as well as an international 4 position to nsintain, especially 68 far s.s relation with govern- ments ie concerned, consequently we have to be very careful in writing up foreign experiences, because of the fact we are tread- ing on very delicate diplomatic ground. I should be very glad, indeed, to see you profit by a series of articles of the nature you mention, but I should appreciate very much having an opportunity to look these over. You can rest assured that my sense of literary fariness se w-ll as pleasure in seeing your experiences in print would govern any decision that 1 might make. In closing may i state that the American Jouroal of Nursing always submits any article in which the Red Crose is ment oned to me before they print it se this ie done with an idea of accuracy, etc. I have often wondered why more of our nurses did not write their experiences, only a few have done this. I presume there are two reasons -- First, one must have the ability to write entertainingly; and the second, that people have been more or less fed up on what the prees speaks of as "war stuff." lith best wishes for 8 Heppy Chrietmas, I am - Very sincerely yours, N.H National Director, Nursing Service.
