NEW ENGLAND DIVISION Miss Virginia Gibbes Director, Nursing Service December 18, 1924. Elizabeth G. Fox, Director, Public Health Nursing Service Your letter of "ovember 29th telling us that Miss Munn could not accept a position in the New England Division and bringing forward the name of Mies Ada Holden Stafford, Badge #29467, got tb the bottom of my basket and I have just run actoss it. I am awfully sorry about Miss Munn for I heard she is a cracker-jack and would be a grest addition to our staff. thank I have just looked up Miss Stafford'e history and em sorry to say it doesn't sound very promising. She was with the Red Croes in Siberia and her report reads as follows: Nursing ability - fairly good Manner: in performance of duty - discontented, slow, interfering Relation with co-workers - indifferent Aptitude - good After her return to this country we apparently had quite a little difficulty with her about the return of her Red Cross equipment. Whether she meant to be unpleasant or whether she just kept forgetting to take care of the matter I do not know, but at any rate we had to write her several times before she fimally returned her equipment. Her training school credential is entirely non-committal, the questions about personality, initiative, etc., being left unanswered. On the shole, from what we know about her here she certainly doesn't sound like the kind of person we need in the field and unlese you have gury different credentials which make ours seem one-sided, I don,t believe you will want to consider her. egf hh o.K.
