My dear Miss Stafford:
Your letter of December 5 to Miss Crandall has been
referred to us as all Red Cross nurses desiring public health work
are appointed to service by this Bureau. we are very sorry that
you did not feel you could consider the suggestions of our letter of
November
29. The situation ao far as foreign service is concerned
is indefinite as we wrote you in the letter referred to. We think
it is quite safe to say that the Red Cross will have no opportunity
to send you abroad.
