Storey,\n568 Wellington Avenue,\nour mail\nRochester, N.Y.\nMy dear Miss Storey:\nI am in receipt of your letter of July 14th, and note that you can\nbe ready by July 25th. I hope that you have not given up your position,\nand advise that you do not do so until you receive definite word as to\ntravel orders. We have been in contact with the War Department this\nmorning, and have been advised that as the sailing of all ships is now\na\nmilitary secret we are to be ready but remain on the alert for orders to\nreport to the port of embarkation. You understand, of course, that this\ninformation is confidential so please do not divulge any of the instructions\nwhich we give you from now on.\nIn order to complete your credentials the following have to be\nconsidered:\n1. Immunizations\nThe required immunizations are smallpox,\ntriple typhoid, Dick test with immunization if necessary,\nand Schick test with immunization if necessary. I assumed\nthat you had received these instructions with your physical\nwhich was sent you sometime ago, but note in your recent\nletter that you have also had the first tetanus toxoid.\nThis will do no harm, of course, and your second dose which\nis due in two months will be given at the discretion of the\nArmy doctor in England.\n2. Uniform\nWe have ordered your uniform and Knox hat to be\nsent directly to you. We are enclosing the instruction sheet\non uniform which you previously returned, so that you can see\nwhat other things you will need to get. We believe that you\nwill be outfitted by the Army as soon as you reach England,\nso that you will not have to plan for any uniforms except\nthe one Red Cross street uniform. I believe you will find\nthe suggestions contained in this instruction sheet as to\npersonal clothing helpful, and, of course, you ean use your\nown discretion as to what things you wish to assemble to\ntake with you. Please note that warm clothing is essential,\nespecially underwear and night-clothing.\n41,"
