Public Health Nursing Service,
American Red Cross,
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Havey,
Knowing that you have the ability of pouring oil
on troubled waters, I am coming to you W ith one
of our Legion problems. Some of the members of our
County Legion Delegation are questioning the eligi-
bility of one of our members, Margaret Strycker.
She served with the Red Cross in England, September
lst. 1914 to October, 1915 and at that time entered
the nursing service at the American Ambulance Hospital,
Neuilly-sur-Seine
Would you kindly advise the status of this hospital,
whether it was American Red Cross or under the French
or American Government from October 1, 1915 to December
27, 1917. This was the date that Miss Strycker was on
duty and this seems to be the period that is under
discussion. At this t ime, December 27, 1917 she again
entered the Red Cross and served in Italy
Has the Red Cross any record of her service from
October 1, 1915 to December 27th 1917. If this infor-
mation is obtainable, we would appreciate it very much
as it will terminate any further discussions from the
Legionaires.
Very sincerely yours,
Lacone (Phillips
(Miss) Lawrie L. Phillips,
Red Cross Nurse.
