Miss Margaret Stryckor,
Amerionn Women's War Hospital,
Paignton, South Devon,
England,
My dear Miss Strycker:
Your letter received some time ago, but we have
been exceedingly busy lately with the annual meeting of
the American Red Cross. We had only a limited number of
vacancies in La Panne and wished to send as many nurses
from France as possible, The journey from Yvetot or
Pau was mush simpler than from Paignton so that we select-
ed as many 8.8 possible from France.
You state in your letter that you are going to the
American Ambulance in Paris, but I am sending this letter
to Paignton, taking it for granted that it will be for-
warded to you. Many questions entered into our seleo-
tion of nurses for transfer, and I can scarcely under-
stand why the nurses feel at liberty to ask our reasons.
Yours sincerely,
Chairman National Committee,
Red Cross Nursing Service.
