Miss Audred Marie Tate
185 N. Bridge Street
Somerville, New Jersey
My dear Miss Tate:
Your record has been returned from the Navy
Nurse Corps with the comment that you were physically
disqualified for military service. We are very sorry
indeed to learn of this decision as no doubt you are
keenly disappointed.
Perhaps you would like to consider the possi-
bilities of employment with the Veterans Administration
which governmental agency is in need of many more nurses
at the present time. Large numbers of our fighting men
are being returned to this country many of whom may need
prolonged hoppitalization. If you are interested I would
suggest that you write to Miss Gwen Andrew, Superintendent
of Nursing, Veterans Administration, Washington, D. C., or
make application to a local Veterans facility.
"ith all good wishes for your future, I am
Cordially yours,
Virginia M. Dunbar
Director, Nursing Service
