January Twenty Fifth 1 9 2 3 Miss Helen Teal 734 E Mitchell St Kendallville Ind My dear Miss Teal As you know Miss Holmes and Miss Van Duzor planned their re- signations to take place at the same time in order to start their farming careers together. It now appears that the first of April or possibly the 15th of April would be a more convenient time for them to open their New England cottage than the first of March. The N.O.P.H.N. is particular anxious to keep Miss Van Duzor as long as possible as her successor has not yet been secured. If it can be ar ranged for Miss Holmes to remain with the Red Cross until at least the first of April MissVan Duzor will stay with the N.O.P. H.N. until that time also. I am writing now to see if by any chance you can remain in your present position a month longer coming to us the first of April in- stead of the first of March. If all your plans are laid and it would be a serious inconvenience to you to have your appointment with us postponed a month, I of course do not want to ask it of you, but if you can remain where you are just as well as not and if it makes no particular difference to you I shall appreciate the opportunity this will give to postpone Miss Holmes' resignation and consequently Miss Van Duzor's until the first of April. I am writing you quite frankly about the si tuation feeling sure that you will answer me equal- ly frankly. With best wishes, Yours sincerely ©.K. Elizabeth G.
