Now I think the time has\ncome for my instructions.\nI met with the local committee - Miss Ina Gaskill, Chairman -\nthe other night and was asked to make some of the speeches to the\nsenior students in the training schools. In preperation for this\nwork I call on you.\nAnd then, I should like to know what book you would choose to tell\nthe story of A. R. C. if you were planning a small library for the use\nof graduate nurses largely. I think we shall try a reading contest in\nIndiana. If we do, we want to choose books which the state library can\nor will provide for the nurses in towns without public libraries and\nbooks which we hope public libraries will be glad to add to their\nshelves for the general reading public if they do not already carry\nthem. If we had only the nurses to consider we could use the big\nhistory of the A. R. C. Nursing Service, but I believe the hope of\nhaving these books bought by public libraries limits our field. Don't\nyou?\nThere is to be a change in this local committee which you will\nhear of through the proper channels. Miss Winifred Zink goes to\nMiami, Florida as instructor. She is a young Red Crosser but has\nstudied to familiarize herself with policies and is anxious to continue\nin Red Cross work. I hope the local committee in Florida can make her\nacquaintance early for, as I remember, Florida has a very sweet spirit\nin its A. R.
