November 10, 1930 Mr. .Barclay Acheson, Exec. Secy., Near East foundation, 151 Fifth Avenue, New York City. My dear Mr. Acheson: I was greatly interested in your letter of November 8, and hastened to write immediately to Miss Teal, quoting your last two paragraphs in order that she might be better informed of the situation. If you could send two nurses, that I think would be highly desirabbe, for unquestionably there will be ample work for two with the school and the development of the public health nursing field. Naturally, Miss Teal would be somewhat handicapped because ofher inability to speak the language, on the other hand she is not a person who is entirely dependent upon society. I believe if you could send another nurse with her that she might be willing to undertake the work. If Miss MacFetridge WES able to live alone, as she did at Erivan with no Americans about her, I believe it would be quite possible for two American nurses to live happily, in what you speak of as "this isolation." Miss Teal lives at the following address - 7342 3749 Mitchell Street, Kendallville, Indiana, - and would perhaps be willing to go to New York to see you. She is 8 very attractive person in many ways and I know you would like her immensely. Phe should, however, thoroughly understand the conditions under which she would work, her relation to the Near East Foundation, and also to the local governmental groups, etc. With best wishes, I am Sincerely yours, n.h National Director, "ursing Service.
