Miss Margaret Thomas,
A. R. c. Hospital #109
Evreux, Eure, France.
My dear Miss Thomas:
I was indeed glad to received
your letter of November 20th, informing ma that you
were ready to undertake some form of Public Health
work upon your return.
You will be interested to know
that the Red Cross is expanding its' Public Health
work very greatly and is most anxious to get in touch
with the nurses upon their return, in order that we
shall be able to supply the needs for the work that
the Red Cross is hoping to perform.
We are establishing in New York a
Bureau of Informition and as the nurses return through
Ellis Island or New York, as I am assuming that you
have been sent under the auspices of the Red Cross and
not of the Government, you will be asked to report at
the office at 41 East 23rd Street, New York City in order
to make the adjustment of equipment. From there the
nurses are to be directed toward the Bureau of Informa-
tion. Ve shall file your name, however, a3 a Public
Health worker in a classified rile that wa are making
up now, sogthat wa may have sone thing to offer you,
even before you return.
Vary truly yours,
Director, Bureau of Field Nursing
Service.
