to vilo A.R.C. INER-OFHIOH LETTER AMERICAN NATIONAL RED CROSS Reforred to. PR 1,9 1930 Baker MIDWESTERN BRANCH-ST. LOUIS To Mrs. Isabelle W. Baker, R.N., Date April 17, 1930. From Miss A. Louise Kinney. Subject Mi SS Margaret Thomas, Cheyenne, Wyoming. My dear Mrs. Baker: Your letter of April 15th regarding Miss Margaret Thomas has been received. My immediate reaction to Miss Thomas' request for information regarding the summer school work is to keep her out if we can. The Branch Office has had consi derable difficulty with Miss Thomas while she was in Montana regarding the teaching of Home Hygiene lasses. She had very definite ideas as to how classes should be taught, the amount of time given, et cetera, and would not conform to our requirements, tho she wanted to have certi- ficates for students under her instruction. Although she has apparently been much interested in Red Cross work she has not been very cooperative and has caused a great deal of trouble. I believe everyone in Montana, including the State Department of Health, by whom she was employed, were quite relieved when she moved on. We are not happy that she is back in Wyoming. Miss Andersen, I believe, will regall some of the unpleasantness that occurred a year ago by class work done by Mi: SS Thomas. I hope that our quota for Fort Collins will be so full that it will not be possible to admit her. Yours sincerely, a service A. Louise Kinney, R.N., Assistant to the Director, Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick Service. ALK:ge APR 18 1930 4755
