April 21, 19L1 Miss Gertrude Madley, American Red Cross, Washington, D.C. My dear Miss Madley: Thank you for your letter of April 14th, regarding the American Red Cross-Harvard Hospital Unit. The inclosed in- formation interested me intensely, and may I ask, that if any opening should occur for a position on your staff, might I be given an opportunity to apply for it? Thank you again for your prompt letter, and I sincerely hope an opening will present itself in the near future; for since reading of your plans and set up, I am more anxious than ever, to get into that type of work. I envy you. Sincerely, Lillian M. Tifft Lillian M. Tifft, 210 Map le St., Seymour, Conn.
