Full equipment will be provided. Nurses
to whom equipment cards have been issued must have these filled out and reta reed
to the Buresu of Equipment at 222 Fourth Avenue, New York City. as soon after
their receipt as possible, by special delivery, being careful to give the
correct instructions as to size of hat, waists, gloves, etc.
The equipment of nurses not living in the
Atlantic, New England or Penns Ivania Divisions will be shipped direc ly to
San Francisco or to Seattle.
Therees living in the Divisions mentioned will
have their equipment shipped directly to their homes and any alterations
necessary may be made before they proceed to the point of embarkation.
Nurses living in Now York or in the immodiate
vicinity are requested to report in parson to the Dureats of dquipment for
instructions regarding equipment. Tais must be dono as soon after this
lotter of instructions has boon received as possible.
May I urge that all mirses notify this office
when their complete equipment has arrived. Nurses who have been informed that
their equipment will be shipped to their homes must not proceed to San Francisco
or to Seattle unless their equipment has arrived. If equipment has not been
received it is important that they contact icate with this Department at Head-
quarters at ones by wire.
Instructions regarding your applying for
passport will be issued by your Division Director. we have suggested that they
ask all marsia to notify as of the date on which they make application for pass-
port, and we also suggest that you notify us of the date on which you return
your equi ment card to Now York, either by letter or post card.
Due to the limited space on the steamers it
is difficult to give an approximate date of your sailing. In view of this un-
certainty we would urge that you do not give up the work that you are doing
until you have received instructions to do so. This may give you very little
time final arrangements. int may save 57012 considerable time in whiting.
You should take as little of your own apparel
as possible, as t is will be shipped basic to your home as soon as you receive
Red Gross equipment. llo furs, such as scarfs, miffs,or far coats will be
allowed, but a knitted scarf of kchalt or navy blue may be taken.
Marses assigned to service overseas should
understand that we cannot promise a definite assignment to any nurse. They
are selected for service with reference to their preferation for special types
