Dear Miss Gowdy :
Enclosed you will find my life history.
The report from the laboratory was the cause of the last
bit in the whole process of delay. I should regard it
a great favor to have this report more or less a matter
of confidence in the office---y can understand , I believe
that I am a bit sensitive about having clerks etc. dis-
cuss personal matters. It would not make a particle
of difference if I were not so well known there.
Your inquity regarding Miss Wolf was
received this morning. If there is no particular hurry
about it I should like to have the opportunity of " culti-
vating " Miss Wolf first , as I know her only slightly
now. I think that she is bright enough , perhaps more
so than the average. My observation is more or less su per-
ficial . She was in one discussion class of mine but had
very little comment. She is untidy , but , I guess that

may be overlooked in a rural community.

There is a very very fine woman who has
just returned from Poland -- Miss Ada Ayers.-- -- who is interested
in Public Health. She has not had a course and the New Eng&
Division seems not to want to accept her without. However she
had a lot of organization of Health stations in Poland under
Miss Matthews . She had previously been one of my nurses in
