Miss Rachel C. Torrance,
The Madison Squareg,
37 Madison Avenue,
New York City.
My dear Miss Torrance:
I beg to inform you, that the New York County
Chapter, through its Test Side Workroom Committee, who gave you the
scholarship have consented to release you from a years' Red Cross
work in this country, for a years' Red Cross work in Europe.
In my letter to you of June 13th, I made the
statement - that I felt it would be unfortunate to urge you to give
up for you to secure your Teachers College certificate, hoping that
your work in this country. - It would I believe be much better at
the end of that time an opening will exist for you in Europe.
will you kindly let me know, therefore, so
that I may inform Miss Hay the earliest possible date of your
availability?
Very truly yours,
Director - Nursing Service.
