6-12-18 Mr. Scott Miss Delano Miss Ethel Trainor Miss Ethel Trainor was enrolled as a member of Base Hospital 114 for special Orthopedic service in France. She was asked to take oth or service so was requested to state to the local committee tha she was a member of Base Hospital 114 which she did. Her papers were forwarded to the Surgeon General's off ice with those of the other members of this hospital when asked for,and pending the going of this group to France they were expected to serve temporarily in one of the cantonment hospital Miss Trainor was requested to give the date on which she would be available for this cantonment service and refused to respond in consequence of which the Supt.of the Army Nurse Corps refuse ed to give her an assignment to foreign service. We would be glad to assign Miss Trainor immediately to cantonment hospital service and failing that to place her on one of our units for ser ice under the Red Cross in France, but if she hould accept this assignment she would have to do so with the understanding that we could only state her quali fications as a surgical nurse to our Representative who would place her where she was most needed and which assignment she would be expected to accept without question.
