Laura Knowlton Turner\nChairmon, thine St te and Local Committee\nVassalboro, Maine\nDear Mrs. Turner:\nYou certainly are having difficulty in getting a secretary\nfor your Committee and I am tremendously distressed that your second\nsuggestion does not meet the requirements for a Conistitee appointment.\nAs you know, membership in the American Nurses Association has al-\nways been a requirement for at Counittee appointment.\nWe have just written to Hise Bond urging her to see if\nthere isn't soise member of the Committee who can carry Committee\nresponsibilities until Mrs. Guilford can either qualify or some\nother nurse who does qualify will be available for the assignment.\nI do hope that Miss Lowd's work is being covered in\nsome way during this interval.
