Mrs. M. S. Turner
Vassalboro
Maine
My dear Mrs. Turner:
You do not know how delighted I was to receive one
of the beautiful wreaths which you sent to Public Health Nursing
Service. I think they were most generous to share with me and if
you could see the wreath on the door of the Nursing Service you
would be proud of the contribution Maine is making to our Christmas
festivities. It always gives one such a feeling of joy to see
Christmas greens.
I was also allowed the privilege of reading your delight-
ful letter and would just love to see you in the midst of your
domestic activities. How proud you must have been to sit at the
head of a table with a full grown.family to enjoy your Thanksgiving
dinner!
I always look back with a great deal of pleasure to our
associations with you and have a great sense of gratitude to you for
all you did to build & Red Cross Nursing Service in Maine. You were
always too modest and took very little of the credit to yourself but
we know that you were the motivating force that plowed a very sterile
field.
With best wishes and hoping you and yours will have a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I am
Sincerely and gratefully yours,
Ida F. Butler
