My dear Dr. Kenney:
On the recommendation of Dr. Albert McCown, Director, Medical
and Health Service, National Headquarters, American Red Cross, we are re-
ferring to you for physical examination, Miss Jeannette Agnes Varrieur,
26 North Bend Street, Pawtucket, R. I., a Red Cross nurse who is interested
in being considered for service in Hawaii. We are now writing her to get
in touch with you for an appointment.
As in all emergencies for foreign service assignments, physical
stamina and emotional stability of high order are essential. To aid us
in the evaluation of these qualities we are enlisting your service for
this physical examination. We shall appreciate your cooperation, and
will see that you are compensated at the rate of five dollars ($5.00)
for the examination.
A physical examination report form is herewith enclosed. The
physical report, bill and any recommend tion for further examinations
should be sent to this office, through which they will be referred to
our Personnel Service.
