Miss M. H. Jordon,
New York Hospital Training School for Nurses,
New York City.
My dear Miss Jordon:
Some time ago Miss Elsie M. Jessup, a graduate
of your training school, made application for enrollment
and was rejected on account of non-registration in New
York state.
I find in looking through her papera that you
made no statement concerning her record while in the
training school. Miss Jordon has recently written to me from
France, and is anxious for service abroad. We hope to en-
roll as many of the American nurses in Europe as possible,
in order to save the dangers of the ocean trip.
I shall greatly appreciate it if you will fill out
the enclosed blank from the records of the school, so that
I may judge of her qualifications and whether she would give
good service in Europe. I find in her application that she
was retained in the New YorkyHospital for a time as Head Nurse
and that she had a good deal of experience before going to
Europe. Our regulation concerning registration need not nec-
essarily apply to anyone requiring registration outside of
the state.
