que In accordance with the nomination made by the Board of
Directors of the Graduate Nurses Association, we are pleased to reappoint
you as a member of the District of Columbia Committee on Red Cross 800 Nursing CLOAD
Service.
QUGT As there is only one Committee in the District of Columbia,
it functions in the dual capacity of State and Local; therefore, any
reference to such in the informational material will apply in that way.

THO In the capacity of a State Committee it should determine
objectives for the whole state to include:

BOL Enrollment of nurses. for military and civilian defense,
disaster preparedness, instructors of Home Nursing and Volunteer Nurse's
Aide classes.

2. Publicity to keep nurses. informed through regular use
of articles on Red Cross nursing in professional publications.
3. Appropriate Red Cross: programs at state and district
meetings of nursing organizations and related prof essions.
4. Development of cordial relationship with the local
Chapter, schools of nursings public health and, hospital nursing services.
Lue Formulating these objectives will require careful study
of the local needs and resources.

wege ?enrolling nurses: is an added responsibility; the distribution of
application blanks and their completione Also maintaining an up-to-date
file of all enroll ed Red Cross nurses in the state. The file is the personal

great help to her in doing work in connéction with gug to date OSTL such
as the annual questionnaires.
