Extract from letter of August 2-20 from Miss Noyes to Miss Hay 19 Your report concerning
Miss Sandmaier is noted. I am not at all surprised as I stated in a previous communica-
tion, in regard to her service. She is a very nive girl but had a reputation for frivolity
before she was allowed to go. In fact, her assignment was held up for about a year, at
which time she worked at National Headquarters. When the demand for nurses became so great
we felt we should no longer hold up her assignment. Both Miss Delano and I had a conversation
with may not do anything really out of the way, she seems to forget that because of the that
her during which she assured us we would never have any cause for criticism. While fact she
she is a nurse that she cannot do the same things that other women do without bringing down
criticism upon herself and the organization to which she belongs."
