REGULATIONS
Concerning Physical Examinations and Prophy-
lactic Treatment Required for Appointment to
the Town and Country Nursing Service.
Before appointments to the Town and
as.
Country Nursing Service are granted by the
Red Cross, candidates must present a cer-
tificate of physical examination, a certifi-
cate of protection against smallpox and a
certificate of immunity from typhoid fever.
Only the regulation forms of certificates
provided by the Red Cross will be accepted.
They must furthermore agree to repeat
such prophylactic treatment when neces-
sary to continue immune from typhoid fever
and smallpox as long as they may be con-
nected with the Town and Country Nursing
Service. Anti-typhoid treatment is not re-
quired of nurses who have had typhoid
fever or who are over forty-five years of
age.
The Certificate of Physical Examination
should be filled out by a physician desig-
nated by the Red Cross to make the physical
examination where this is practicable.
The Certificate of Protection against
Smallpox and the Certificate of Typhoid
Immunity are to be filled out by any phy-
sician or physicians whom the individual
nurse may select.
