This memo relates to your request over the telephone on
April 7th for information about Annie Laurie Williens and her work
with the Red Cross.
The records show that on July 15th, 1920 Miss Milliens
was assigned to do Public Health work for Red Cross in Serbia. She
was released on July 5th, 1922.
I find a stetement previous to the above, as follows:
"This is to certify that ay service with the Américan
Red Cross in Siberia havin) been terminated, I therefore relieve
the Americen Red Cross from any further obligation, financially or
otherwise.
Annie L. Williams
Date - April 28, 1920"
According to any further information that we have, Miss
williens was employed as district and school nurse in Daxbury, Mass.
but not by the Red Crose Chapter. She has been authorized to teach
the classes in Red Cross Home Nursing since 1988 but again she was
not employed by the Red Cross but tsught in connection with her
regular work as school or district nurse. The Chapter may have paid
something on a class basis but I do not have a record so stating.
Her last authorization was in September, 1940, and,has teught during
the present year.
