W November 19, 1937 Nurse Mary E. Williams Tulskegee Institute Tuskegee, Alabama Dear Nurse williems: We have recently received an inquiry regarding your membership in the American Red Cross Nursing Service and have turned to our files in order to be able to answer the that question the enrollment would be autometically annulled when you were correctly. We find that you were granted a Special Enrollment and at the time this was granted you we did explain released from Red Crose service. In our files we find a letter addressed to you, dated December 12, 1932, in which we explained that es you were no longer engaged in Red Cross service, we were annulling your Special Inrollment. I am sending you a copy of this letter and wanted you to know that to the person who was anxious to know about your enrollment, we have given this in- formetion. I am sure you do understand that when your enrollment wes annulled, it indicated that you could no longer designate yourself as a Red Cross nurse. We are sorry if our letter written to you in 1932 did not reach you. Sincerely yours, Ida F. Butler Director of Nursing ee Miss Klinefelter IFB:SD Spec.
