Miss Clara D.Noyes,
Directer Red Cross Nursing Service,
Washington,D.C.
My dear Miss Neyes
applicable
Your letter of March 30th, relative to the application of Mary Williams,
colored, has impressed upon my mind more forcibly the status of the Colored Reg.
Nurse in Alabama and I presume the condition exists in all Southern States.
Colered Nurses are eligible for Registration in Alabama but are not
accepted into Districts or the State Association.
We have a number of worthy colored nurses in B'ham, who are ambitious
to succeed in their profession, are registered and who would like exceedingly
to become members of the A.R.C.
I
have been appreached by several for in-
formation but have been at a less to know how to advise them.
It is my understanding that there is a National Organization for Col.
Nurses but of course there no affiliation between this and the A.N.A.
Appreciating any information or advice, I am
Sincerely yours
Cline m Beddam
