FORM 336
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS
-
To
Miss Butler,
Date
December
9, 1926.
From
Subjeci
Mrs. Humphrey,
y
We have received a request from the Tuskegee Co. Alabama, Chapter,
to authorize Miss Mary E. Williams, Box 314, Tuskegee Institute, Alabama,
as an instructor in Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick. It is our under-
standing that Miss Williams is now teaching the course in the institute.
She has very good educational credentials, a graduate of High School and
of Normal School. However, she is a graduate of the Richmond Hospital, Va.,
which we believe is a hospital for colored people. We therefore assume
that she is colored.
Will you send her papers for enrollment and if possible grant her
special enrollment if she is not eligible for active enrollment. Miss
Williams is registered in Virginia and in Alabama.
