Director of Nursing Service
St. Francis Hospital
Wilmington, Delaware
My dear Director:
Miss Betty Lou Wilson is being considered by the American
Red Cross for a Foreign Service appointment. Her medical history
reveals that at the time she was a student nurse (1936) she was
hospitalized with an attack of pleuriey.
Do be kind enough to give us a report of her illness at
that time. Our Red Cross physician wants to know especially whether
or not it was a simple pleurisy or with effusion. He would also like
the report to include the complete diagnosis, the length of time she
was a patient and her prognosis upon recovery.
We do appreciate your cooperation.
Very truly. yours,
(Mrs.) Ernestine B. Amick
