AMERICAN RED CROSS
IN GREAT BRITAIN
12 GROSVENOR SQUARE.
LONDON, W. I.
20th January, 1943.
s
To Whom it may concern.
Miss Catherine Wilson came to England in June 1941
as a member of the nursing staff of the American Red
Cross Harvard Unit. Upon arrival in England she served
in the operating room at Middlesex Hospital for three
months, until the American Red Cross Harvard Hospital
was completed. There she worked in the admitting room,
central supply room, and operating room. She is a
conscientious worker and gave very efficient service.
When the American Red Cross Harvard Unit was taken
over by the United States Army in August 1942, Miss Wilson
continued her service with the American Red Cross in the
Service Club at Glasgow, Scotland. She had charge of
the first aid, did hospital visiting of American Troops
in British hospitals, cared for sick personnel in the
Service Club, helped with personal services to the soldiers,
and assisted in the Club generally as the need arose.
She worked long hours and gave excellent service.
I am glad to recommend Miss Wilson.
Alice Olson
Supervisor of Nurses
American Red Cross Commission to
Great Britain.
