    "ocrText": "Ni\nYou will soon receive a letter from the Honorable Normen H. Davis,\nChairmen of the American National Red. Cross, and with it a token of\nthe esteem in which the heroic action of every member of the Unit is\nheld.\nYou will be glad to know that a menorial fund to be used as a loan fund\nby the nurses of the American Red Cross-Harvard Unit has been reised by\nfriends of Euth Roodman Breckinridge in her memory. To this fund many\nindividuals have contributed. Not only have individuals contributed,\nbut the alamnee associations of the schools of nursing from which the\nHarvard Unit nurses graduated. A committee has been formed to see that\nthis fund is used by the nurses of the Unit in any way which will promote\ntheir best professionel or personal interests, and give each person to\nwhom a loen is made her best opportunity for professional growth. To\nberrow from the fund will be counted as an honor paid to the entire\nUnit. If there is no longer an occession for the nembers of the Unit\nto use this fund, it ip understood that the money will revert to a more\ngeneral American Red Cross nurse loan fund.\nOn September 16 of lest year, Sir Wilson Jameson, Chief Medical Officer,\nMinistry of Health, sent a letter which came to the Dean of the Medical\nSchool and to the Cheirmen of the Americen Red Cross expressing his deep\nappreciation of the service which the Unit has rendered to the people\nof Grect Britain. I enclose a copy of this letter.\nThere is little more that I can add at this time except to say that\nthe spirit which prompted the nurses of the Harvard Unit, a spirit\nwhich has informed their work throughout the yeer's service in Fnaland\nin ver-time, has been and will always be e cource of inspiration and\nstrength to me personally.
