Swarthmore, Pennsylvania
My dear 2r. Eilson:
The Chairman of the Red. Cross, Hon. Norman H. levis, has
asked me to send you the following message from the British Minister
of Health, Mr. Ernest Brown:
"I am greatly distressed that some of the nurses who were
coming over to help us under the auspices of the American
Red barbarous ing Cross the Atlantic. have not yet If the the been ships fears accounted in for which for they after sefety vere the

unhappily be confirmed the loss will be great both to you
and to us. Their sacrifice can never be forgotten. I
should be glad iftyou would express my deepest sympathy
with all concerned on your side. Ne are very glad to see
the nurses whd were rescued and have non arrived in this
country and are full of admiration at the courage with which
they have faced their bitter ordeal."
