C OFFICE OF CIVILIAN DEFENSE C 0 0 P Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii P Y Y P. 0. Box 1631 Jan. 28, 1943 To: Territorial Supervisor Nursing Activities From: Supervisor Nursing Activities, Kauai Subject: Miss Elizabeth Wright Miss Wilde, I believe, has written you somewhat regarding Miss Wright. We have not been satisfied with her since her arrival. She was first placed on duty at the G.N. Wilcox Memorial Hospital, where she was very dissatisfied and we were not pleased with her. We then sent her to Waimea but she was not satisfactory to Miss Specht and was unhappy there so we returned her to the hospital here. Her work and judgment are poor, she constantly endeavors to avoid her duties and to have the aides do her work, thus asking of them things they are not supposed to do. She is not reliable, reports for duty late and goes off early. One day last week she reported she was ill and then left the home and was gone until 10 P. M. that evening. Socially she does not always act with maturity. She has not reached the O'Connor record yet. Miss Annesser and Mrs. Randall have talked to her but made no impression, as she feels she is always in the right. Miss Wilde has now told her that if she does not improve she would be sent off duty and would not be paid for that time. We do not know what disciplinary measures we may use. Please advise us. May we dismiss or recommend for dismissal, or what may we do? C (SGD) Mabel I. Wilcox Mabel I. Wilcox Supervisor Nursing Activities, Kauai MIW/kt
