Miss Alice Fiztgerald:
Miss Fitzgerald was at Messina during the earthquake.
She was one of our earliest enrollments. Is a person possessed of a great deal
of social spirit, interested in immigrant problem, thinks it should begin on the
other side.
While in WilkesParre, studied Folish. Since her return has spent
some time on Ellis Island. While notnecces rily a duty of A.R.C., immgration
work has been done by usmotably at Providence Miss F. believes very strongly that
one of the important things A.R.C. can do is to teach classes in H.H. and C.S.
on the pi rs to the mothers befo e they are swallowed up in the maelstrom of
city life.
She has never been ale to carry out her desires in this dierection becaus
she has always been in such demand for work for which her nursing education has
primarily fitted her.
Went tto Europe as the Edith Cavell "emorial Nurse, a memorial raised by a
group of patriotic cistizens i Boston, who wanted to contribute something to the
Allies before our participation in the wr. It WE felt that the nurse would
form the best type of memorial service, so that they sent a nurse over to the
British as the Edhth Cavell Memorial Nurse. "iss F* was at that time at Wellesley
at Dana Hall n charge of health work of the students.
