COUNTY OF FAIRFIELD,
Br it That on the 19
day
of March A. D., 1867 before
the Superior Court, within and for
said County, having Common Law jurisdiction,
with a Clerk, and a Seal, personally appeared,
Earnard Devent
of
in-said County,
'who was born in France aged
about 43 years, and on oath did declare
that it was bona fide his intention to become a
CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity
to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to
Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Groat Britain and Ircland,
the Emperor afterance
of whom he is now a subject.-IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, E.S.
Clerk
of said Court, have hereunto set my hand and Seal of the said Court, the day and year
aforesaid.
